That grey patch behind Anna (far right) is the just-poured slab for the kachelofen, our masonry heater. It is sitting on top of the arched brick supports you've seen in the basement if you've been following any of these posts. You can see the ramp up onto the joists, and sheets of plywood spread out to make a path for the wheelbarrows of concrete. We just made it before temperatures dropped into the twenties.
