Shawn and Beth travel to North Carolina for one of the largest Organic Growers Schools in the Country. They will be offering a full day workshop on the Homestead Dairy cow and talks on Holistic Grazing, Feeding the Farm from the Farm and Farm Business.

Homestead Pigs and Pig Butchering: Raising, Feeding, and Slaughtering Using Things You Have on Hand with Shawn, Beth and Luke Dougherty. Register at HERD.RENT
Learn homestead pork production, from what pigs eat and how to grow it, to on-farm slaughter using tools you already have. Shawn and Beth Dougherty take you on a tour of the Sow's Ear, explaining their low-inputs farming methods, followed by a start-to-finish no-frills hog slaughter with Luke Dougherty. Students help kill, skin, gut, process and wrap two pigs, with active participation in every part of the butchering process; in addition, each student will take home 15# of pork.
