kitchen porch annex

One of the changes we are incorporating into the rebuild is an extension of the back porch (east/south) to make an 8'x16' screened porch off the kitchen. It was on our list of eventual projects - should we ever get around to it. There are great advantages to having a screened annex to the kitchen. Among these: a place to set hot canners where they won't continue to heat the kitchen; a place for kitchen overflow; and a passive refrigerator/freezer from November to March.

This is an update Beth is really excited about.
