garlic harvest

When you live in an Appalachian holler, your phone only updates on those intermittent occasions when it has service. This picture must have been taken two weeks ago: the garlic harvest, about 700 bulbs. By now Anna has most of it braided and hanging -- not in the summer kitchen, which presently holds a lot of kitchen ware saved from the housefire, but on the lower deck of the cabin. We'll have to watch to see that it dries properly in this shady, moist location.
