fall workshop weekend: Sept. 16-17

PhD or GRE, homesteading requires a lot of practical skills we never learned at school; here's a great chance to fill out some of the gaps. We've got lots of local craftsmen and women -- and a few imports! -- on offer this weekend for a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere, and there's something for everyone in the family.

Learning to homestead while you homestead is kind of like building a Boeing 747 from spare parts, without a blueprint, while flying it across the ocean -- there are apt to be some moments when you wonder whether you're going to make it. Grab this chance to acquire some skills and experience in hands-on, small group settings. Learn from folks who actually practice what they teach.
