We’ve had three nights of hard frost. The winter kale, up till now fighting a tough battle with our most ubiquitous weed, gallinsoga — also known as ‘quick weed’ — now stands alone on the field of battle, while the gallinsoga is frost-burned to black mush.

One of the nice things about winter crops.

Fresh greens in the winter are nice on the table, and winter produce sales — like all our sales, small-scale — are a welcome boost to a slow economy.
