Unfortunately in England there is too much reliance on government subsidies; of course, with much larger scale in the United States under insurance.

Hi, Jj, thanks for the thought. I’m not sure I follow you, but it’s true that a small island nation and a great big republic will benefit from different forms of government. I can’t say I have a very well-informed opinion on either system. Subsidies and legislation might help delay trends, but I’m thinking that good farming will only happen naturally in a setting of small community and self restraint. We can mandate whatever you like, but it won’t make people good stewards.
